New Fortinet Certified Professional Security Operations certification is available from October 31, 2023. Fortinet Certified Professional Security Operations is designed to validate an individual’s ability to secure networks and applications through the deployment, management, and monitoring of Fortinet security operations products. This certification is recommended for cybersecurity professionals who need expertise in working with Fortinet security operation devices.
Fortinet Certified Professional Security Operations Required Exams
To earn Fortinet Certified Professional Security Operations certification, you are required to pass any 2 of the elective exams within 2 years.
Fortinet NSE 4 – FortiOS 7.2: The exam for Fortinet NSE 4 – FortiOS 7.2 is NSE4_FGT-7.2, which tests your applied knowledge of FortiGate configuration, operation, and day-to-day administration, and includes operational scenarios, configuration extracts, and troubleshooting captures.
Fortinet NSE 5 – FortiAnalyzer 7.2 Analyst: The exam for Fortinet NSE 5 – FortiAnalyzer 7.2 Analyst is NSE5_FAZ-7.2, which tests your applied knowledge of FortiAnalyzer operation from the security analyst point of view, including tasks such as log analysis, event management, incidents and reports, and automation with playbooks.
Fortinet NSE 5 – FortiEDR 5.0: The exam for Fortinet NSE 5 – FortiEDR 5.0 is NSE5_EDR-5.0, which tests your applied knowledge of FortiEDR configuration, operation, and day-to-day administration, and includes operational scenarios, configuration extracts, and troubleshooting captures.
Fortinet NSE 5 – FortiSIEM 6.3: The exam for Fortinet NSE 5 – FortiSIEM 6.3 is NSE5_FSM-6.3, which tests your knowledge and skills related to basic to advanced configuration, day-to-day management of FortiSIEM devices, and integrating FortiSIEM into a network awareness infrastructure.
Fortinet NSE 6 – FortiSOAR 7.0 Administrator: The exam for Fortinet NSE 6 – FortiSOAR 7.0 Administrator is NSE6_FSR-7.0, which tests applied knowledge and skills related to FortiSOAR deployment, configuration, administration, management, and monitoring of FortiSOAR devices in a SOC environment.
Note: Fortinet NSE6_FSR-7.0 exam will be retired on January 31, 2024, and the new upgrade test is NSE6_FSR-7.3 Fortinet NSE 6 – FortiSOAR 7.3 Administrator.
Becoming an FCP in Security Operations
The certification will be conferred on October 1, 2023, for candidates who have successfully passed two of the specified exams. There are three distinct pathways to achieving this certification:
•Hold a valid NSE 8 certification on October 1, 2023, and have completed the two FCP exams at any time in the past.
•Hold a valid NSE 7 certification on October 1, 2023, and have completed the two FCP exams along with the Fortinet NSE 7 – Advanced Analyst exam at any time in the past.
•Completed one or both FCP exams on or after October 1, 2021, with no more than a 2-year gap between the completion of the exams.
Note: Certain exams do not count as electives for this certification, namely Fortinet NSE 6–FortiAnalyzer 7.2 Administrator and Fortinet NSE 5–FortiAnalyzer (version 7.0 and earlier).
